On the outskirts of Penrith, at Cowraik Quarry, Dan Varian has added another hard new line to the region. Reality Drift 8B+ tackles the largest section of roof in the Medusa Tree Area: starting from good undercuts on the far left side of the roof with feet on the back wall, then heading out to a blank, bow-shaped lip and working rightwards until you gain the easy — but committing — highball finishing groove.
As Dan put it: “a complex movement problem for time-poor dads.” Penrith, of course, being well-known for its unusually high concentration of 8B+ climbing dads. 😉
