Jesse Rees has developed an excellent new area above the Boardman’s/Northern Group boulders at Carrock Fell. The Highlands sector sits at the top of the slope, and while the approach is certainly a slog, those who make the effort will be rewarded with a superb selection of tough, technical problems across the grades, spread over two outstanding blocks: the Prison and Marvellous Creation boulders.
Jesse himself climbed the bulk of the lines and carried out the extensive groundworks. I managed to nip in and add a cool, obvious line on the Prison Boulder — Light Up the Dark.
