Sampson's Stones

Area Summary

Sampson's Stones are located below Cam Spout crag, which itself is situated on the southern slopes of the Scafell range, around 1/2 a kilometre south of the mighty Esk Buttress.

The boulders are forged from the finest mountain rhyolite, and offer some of the best problems in the Lakes (if not the UK). The 60 some minute walk-in may sound pretty heinous but this merely adds to the experience and allows you to really appreciate what is one on the most spectacular bouldering locations in the country, and you certainly won't have to queue for problems!
