Fairy Steps

Area Summary

THIS CRAG HAS ACCESS ISSUES: Please read this information.

Fairy Steps is situated in a woodland setting on the hillside just over 2km behind the coastal village of Arnside, in south Cumbria. The bouldering consists of two fine limestone tiers and, due to the high number of easier lines, makes an excellent venue for those just getting into the sport. There are a number of superb harder problems although the test piece seeker will invariably end up doing a fair bit of walking between areas.

More recently a buttress now known as the Shuck's Lair has been opened up. This offers an awesome and concentrated selection of mid to higher grade problems and really opens the area up to the climber operating in the Font 7's. Go to Shuck's Lair page.
