Armathwaite

Area Summary

Situated in the Eden Valley around 12 miles North of Penrith, the Armthwaite crags are a number of sandstone outcrops on the Eastern bank of the river Eden. The rock is superbly solid and dries quickly after rain. The best bouldering is located on the first major buttress  reached from the village...

Sandy Bay is a lovely little spot which catches plenty of sun and as the name would suggest all the landings are of a soft fine grain sand. The problems described on this topo are the most obvious lines but with a little imagination or the help of a local, dozens of excellent variations and eliminates can be found.
