Thorn Crag

Area Summary

A 15 mile drive south east of Carnforth, and just off the M6, Thorn Crag is the only true natural gritstone crag in Lancashire - with a high percentage of decent climbing, that is. It has a beautiful moorland setting which is more than matched by the quality of the problems on offer and the fantastic fine grained Red Rose county grit.

Note: The wealth of bouldering on offer, will be difinitively covered in the forthcoming, Yorkshire Grit Bouldering Volume2 guide book, by Total Climbing.
